Decided after too many years of city living to venture into the country with our two small children and fulfill our dream of getting back to the land and working by the sweat of the brow. Well, never anticipated it, but our marriage has taken an end.
Now I decided to reduce the herd dramatically and focus the operation in fiber processing which is such a joy for me. Animals are available at the lowest you will find on the market for the sake of reducing the number and moving on to my new focus. I'm willing to drop my prices. Any reasonable offers will not be denied. My whole herd is also for sale, if you are interested in a super package deal.
Farm
We have a farm in Scotsburn, Nova Scotia on Canada's East Coast. It has a tremendous view of the rolling hills in Pictou county. We love it and the alpacas love it too! There is 160 acres cleared fertile land on the farm so there is lots of room for expansion and grain and hay crops. If you are looking for nice land to build your dream home on, I am offering a number of pieces of land at a reasonable price.
Objectives and Breeding Strategy
Our objective is to breed healthy, hardy animals with exceptional fleece quality. By providing a clean and natural environment, we believe that we can promote their health and conformation. We aim to provide exercise, green pastures, natural social habitat, sunlight, fresh water, fresh air, leading to a minimization of stress. With sound health as a base, their fiber quality is improved through breeding selection.
We’ve started by concentrating on breeding fineness, conformation and maintain a full spectrum of color. Our preferred style of crimp, is the very high frequency. That's been our selections and proud to see it in the offsprings. We believe breeding fineness is most important. The finer the fleece, the finer the end product.
