Ivano is a well-boned, muscular huacaya from the Quenamari (Kenamari) region in Peru. His fleece exhibits exceptional character retention with age. He has shown the ability to produce dramatic improvement in fleece quality with color retention. He has produced numerous show winners in Canada from white to black. He was selected out of Peru by renowned alpaca screener Cameron Holt in the last Peruvian importation, from hundreds of males from all regions. He has proved to be a great choice and is now a pillar in the Canadian alpaca industry. He was imported at 5 years of age so we do not have early fleece tests for him but we estimate he was well below 20 micron when young as he routinely produces sub-20 micron crias. He has a perfect conformation, head, ultra dense and fine fiber with large testicles. He is very easy to manage with a gentle disposition. At 12 he still breeds like a true macho, breeding multiple females in a day. We have recorded multiple conceptions in a day as well.
Ivano is the sire of the top selling
female at the 2005 Canadian National Auction, RFA Imagene. Cas-Cad-Nac Farm has retained Ivano grand-son Alberta Clipper as a standing stud. Ivano has produced more show winners in Canada then we can keep track of! Recently at the 2006 Pacific Coast Alpaca Show he sired
Reserve Champion White Female And was Grand-Sire of
Champion White Male We LOVE Ivano! |

MMR Pepano (WH) 3/19/00 Dam :Jolimont Peruvian Pepita(WH) Owner : Jefferson Farm, CO What the owner has to say about Pepano: "Pepano is a new bloodline for the area. We went to Canada for him in the fall just after 9/11. He is a heavy boned, perfectly structured male, with full fleece coverage. His fleece is a completely different style than Orions’, more of the merino-type with a lot of fine crimp and loft combined with extreme density. This is one of those fleeces that just become enormous when you get it off the alpaca-it hardly fits in to any size bag! Peppy has the sweetest, calmest personality, a trait passed onto his offspring so far. The crias have been exceptional, great crimp, density and luster on all, and with very long staple lengths. So far he has good promise for throwing color. Bred to Orion’s dam, he produced a gorgeous fawn with taupe markings. We are very happy with Pepano, and know you would be as well." |

RFA Turk (BB) 10/8/00 Dam: Ginger 3(DB) Owner : Amber Autumn Alpacas, AB What the owner has to say about Turk: " Turk is a dark chocolate brown with perfect confirmation and a proud stature. His fleece displays great lustre with crimp and character from skin to tip and consistency from his front shoulder to rear hip. As well, he does not display any medullated fleece even on his chest area and has a very soft handle. His sire, Peruvian Ivano has been doing an incredible job on colored fleeces. Turk was "reserve Grand Champion" in our 2001 Northlands International Alpaca Odyssey last November as judged by renowned alpaca judge "Maggie Krieger" and lost to a white male. In 2002 he was Reserve Champion in the Senior/Mature Male Class at the 2002 Northlands Farmfair International A.L.P.A.C.A.Odyssey Show which had 185 entries. We are definitely very excited about this boy and can not wait to see his cria. Turk is ready to add his wonderful colored genetics to your herd now!! " |
